First Day!

It’s the first day at Woldingham today and we’re all very excited. All teachers woke up early this morning and are now getting ready to meet the children. Look at the teachers. Don’t they look busy planning the fun activities for this week? Meet the busy bees (from the left): Laura, Emily, Magda, Helen, Fermin, Alberto and Irena. We also have some special helpers with us, student hosts. Say hello to Tim, Sophie and Bradley. A team of brilliant activity leaders can’t wait to meet the students too. Just have a look at how excited they are. Top: Alistair, Jinnie, Sarah. Bottom: Cat, Beth, Charlotte, Paul.

Disco and trips!

Today was a busy day for all our Discovery students! At the start of the day the group split into two, with half going on a trip to London, and the other half enjoying a day in Thorpe Park. The students who went to London started with a trip up the London Eye, experiencing fantastic panoramic views of 40km in each direction! Next they enjoyed the festival atmsophere of the Southbank, before rounding the excursion off with some shopping. Those who went to Thorpe Park had an exciting day's worth of rollercoasters, prizes and hotdogs! Finally, in the evening everybody enjoyed a bit of a boogie with Discovery Summer's favourite DJ Sammy. The perfect end to a great day!

Week 4 workshops

Week 4 has seen some exciting workshops out of the classroom. The 'high tea' workshop held a tea party, to which they invited all different members of staff including our Course Director, Administrator and Director of Studies to enjoy their freshly prepared scones with a lovely cup of tea. Thank you for my invite! The 'Nature' workshop enjoyed exploring the countryside in Woldingham whilst filming their documentary. Keep following the blog this afternoon to see the final products.
