Today in multi-activities we looked at different types of British food. What strange names they have! Who'd have thought that mince pies were sweet and that 'toad' in the hole was made of sausages. |
Luca's favourite British food is toad in the hole.
We decided to bake the best of British classics - scones!
Amir and Polina weighed out all the ingredients very carefully...
... Erin followed the recipe perfectly...
... and Toby and Luca used their muscles to stir the mixture.
Helen helped us to roll out the dough and cut out the scones.
Amir was in charge of counting down the minutes and watching the oven.
We also whipped some cream to serve with our beautifully baked scones.
The worst bit about baking is always the tidying-up.
And the best? Eating all our hard work of course!
