Goodbye from DS Woldingham 2016

The children have departed and the staff are packing up the equipment, books and notice boards. This can only mean one thing, we've come to the end of another year at Discovery Summer Woldingham! Thank you to everyone who joined us this year, we hope that you have enjoyed the past four weeks as much as we have. We look forward to seeing many of you next year here, or at another Discovery Centre. For now though, it is goodbye, and to send you all on your way, here is our Woldingham 2016 music video, enjoy!

First Day!

It’s the first day at Woldingham today and we’re all very excited. All teachers woke up early this morning and are now getting ready to meet the children. Look at the teachers. Don’t they look busy planning the fun activities for this week? Meet the busy bees (from the left): Laura, Emily, Magda, Helen, Fermin, Alberto and Irena. We also have some special helpers with us, student hosts. Say hello to Tim, Sophie and Bradley. A team of brilliant activity leaders can’t wait to meet the students too. Disco and trips!

Today was a busy day for all our Discovery students! At the start of the day the group split into two, with half going on a trip to London, and the other half enjoying a day in Thorpe Park. The students who went to London started with a trip up the London Eye, experiencing fantastic panoramic views of 40km in each direction! Next they enjoyed the festival atmsophere of the Southbank, before rounding the excursion off with some shopping. Those who went to Thorpe Park had an exciting day's worth of rollercoasters, prizes and hotdogs! Finally, in the evening everybody enjoyed a bit of a boogie with Discovery Summer's favourite DJ Sammy. The perfect end to a great day!
